Gamesmania has posted theri preview of Throne of Darkness, Click Entertainment's Diablo-with-a-party-in-the-far-east-Action-RPG:
Here to correct this oversight is Click Entertainment and Throne of Darkness. The game is set in the land of Yamato, where an evil warlord has summoned the demon Zanshin, who in turn releases an army of undead warriors and evil creatures. The player controls seven samurai (cough, cough Akira Kurosawa) who must track down and destroy Zanshin.
This might sound very similar to the plot of Diablo, and in fact Throne of Darkness is very much like Diablo 2, down to the nearly identical and extremely easy to navigate interface. Anyone who has played that game will instantly grasp the most basic functions of ToD. You'll see familiar things such as a quest page, a waypoints system, a spell tree, and many other things. It shouldn't come as a big shock: the Click team has some former Diablo developers under its roof, including company co-founder Ben Haas, who did animation at Blizzard North (in fact, he animated the Big D himself). Animator Patrick Tougas, who did animation for Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, and Click President and CEO Doron Gartner are also former Blizzard staffers. |
