Lionheart Item Feature 6
2003-04-28
Lionheart is a computer role playing game that is being developed by Reflexive Entertainment in conjunction with Black Isle Studios. The game is an original title which uses an updated version of the SPECIAL character development system (from Fallouts 1 and 2) in a quasi-historical medieval Europe. Lionheart diverges from traditional high fantasy by placing the player on Earth in the 16th century in which history has taken a different path and magic has been released upon the world. Using a mix of historical and fictional locations and characters, the player progresses through a deep story while advancing through the classless character system.
In this new series of articles, designers of the game will introduce several items from the game
|
Chain Mail of Deepest Winter
Forged from the scales of an ancient frost drake, a magical aura of frost emanates from this armor, periodically dealing 1 - 3 points of cold damage to enemies around its wearer. (Developer's Note: The exact amounts of damage enhancements are determined by the power of the individual when found. Exact game numbers will vary, depending upon how powerful the character was when the item was discovered).

|
Lion Shield
This large emblazoned shield denotes the power of the Templars and their commitment to Justice. This shield gives its wearer +10 AC, Crushing and Slashing Resist 10%, Piercing Resist 15% and Crushing, Slashing and Piercing Damage Thresholds +1. However, because of its bulk, it also slows attack speed down by 7%, and decreases Unarmed Skill by 10.

Ring of the Metal Fist
While worn, this unusual ring gives the hand that wears it all of the characteristics of steel. Its wearer's Unarmed skill is enhanced 10 points and when fighting Unarmed, the wearer deals 10% more Unarmed Melee damage. However, when wearing this ring, the affected hand is too twisted and stiff to wield weapons effectively, and all other weapon skills are decreased by 6 points. (Developer's Note: The exact amounts of skill and damage enhancements are determined by the power of the individual when found. Exact game numbers will vary, depending upon how powerful the character was when the item was discovered).
