Here's an excerpt for you: The Progen improve their lives in the most literal sense -- by genetically engineering warriors. The Jenquai seek spiritual enlightenment through the exploration of the galaxy's mysteries. The Terrans, to put it bluntly, are in it for the money. "Where the Progen have used military power to increase their influence throughout the galaxy, the Terrans have used trade," explains Angela. "When they fight a war, they fight it through their ventures and trade contracts." The military arm of the Terrans, EarthCorps, is powerful to be sure but the "real power of Terran society comes through trade contracts and manufacturing."
