Star Wars Galaxies has been reviewed by Gaming Illustrated. It's a pretty positive article with a final score of 82%. Here's an excerpt:
As a whole though, I enjoy the game a great deal, there are the odd occasions when things don't seem to work and you can be soured towards the experience, but these times are outweighed by the times when the game has put a smile on my face. The good and bad times of games of this type tend to rely on the key factor - the other players. You will lose some of the immersion of SWG when you get a trash talking Rebel you just killed sending you private messages, /ignore is a godsend in these situations. But then you get the moments when you get a message from someone who just bought a rifle off you praising your craftsmanship! I must say, getting involved in a PA was the best decision I made in playing the game, playing with people you know and developing a little community improves the fun factor 100%. I really can't wait for the coming addition of player cities that will come complete with a Mayoral election system and a Militia police so my PA's settlement can get on the map (other big introductions on their way will be vehicles and creatures that you can ride).
