Some shots can be seen there, too. Here's short bit of the preview: Of course, MMORPG's can feature exciting fictional backdrops, and Final Fantasy XI will presumably take good advantage of that possibility. Right now, precise details are scarce, but it appears the game will play out in a world of swords and sorcery called Vana Diel. (The game's terms haven't been officially transliterated yet, so expect changes to the spellings when the game is released here.) The history of Vana Diel is a history of strife, with hordes of monsters periodically waging war against valiant humanoid races and destroying everything in their paths. After being defeated twenty years ago, the monsters are again on the prowl, threatening civilization once more. Source: ToTheGame
