Warcry's David Massey presents us with his very enthusiastic review of LotR: The Third Age for PS2 - David gives it a whopping 9.2 out of 10 overall rating...

What can I really say? It's Lord of the Rings. Even a poorly made game based on Middle Earth would be entertaining. This game does have a truly compelling story though. I found myself playing till I could not look at the screen any longer. The addition of the movie footage with Ian McKellen narrating a completely different story was genius.

As you can tell I am a Lord of the Rings fan but even if I wasn't I would have enjoyed playing this game. It's a good RPG and there is much more to the game. I just do not have the space to talk about everything that this game has to offer.

Gameplay: 8.9
Pro: Great battle and skill systems
Con: Crafting and Evil mode could have been better
Graphics: 9.2
Pro: Movie footage helps make the game
Con: Long attack scenes you can't avoid

Sound: 9.5
Pro: Everything works as it should
Con: None
Entertainment: 9.0
Pro: Great support story
Con: Sleep deprivation
