Game Club Central has interviewed EverQuest 2's community manager, Steve Danuser. Here's a snip: How will EverQuest II advance the guild/social aspects of the community?
Guilds must be registered within a city, and as such will have obligations that must be met to maintain their position in the community. This involves both monetary and status-related contributions, and the guilds that excel in these areas will have access to certain benefits that others will not.
But guilds are not the only type of player organization within the game. For instance, we also have families, which are a lot like guilds but without the competitive aspects inherent to that social structure. A player can belong to both a family and a guild, though each may require separate obligations. |
