Here's a bit about Purge's background story: Purge is set in the near future; it is a war of cleansing. There are two sides, the “Order”, and the “Chosen”. It’s been decades since the first genetically modified humans, and now technology is very advanced, the genetically modified humans, androids, and cyborgs, collectively make up the Order. The Order is life by design. They have set up a governing body for the entire world, they however have a threat, and it’s a threat they must destroy. The Chosen are the outcasts of this perfect scientific society; they have become members of a new religion, and follow the teachings of Mabus. They must swear off all technology to be pure to their religion. They have learned to use magical spells to better themselves. The Chosen believe that it is their duty to free the world of non-believers. The “Purge” war began when the Order killed Mabus, as he was the greatest threat, teaching sorcery to all the outcasts. The goal of the war is to eliminate all that oppose you.
