HomeLAN - How did the idea behind Gates of Discord come about?

Alan Crosby - EverQuest has had hints of other land masses and even other realities in it's lore for sometime. The team thought it would be interesting to explore what would happen if the denizens of a lost continent opened a portal to one of these possible realities, through their hatred and all-consuming desire to see some of their enemies vanquished. The breach they created allowed the introduction of the Mata Muram. The Horde of Mata Muram systemically dominated all of Taelosia and has now set its sights on the rest of Norrath.
