If you're in the mood for a LotR-flavoured NWN module to play, you might want to read NW Vault's review of Lord of the Rings: Sons of the Steward v1.06. The score is 7.5/10 and here's a snip:It's not easy to make a module of something as well-known and loved as "Lord of the Rings" but fortunately, Archaic knows what he's doing with regard to the source material. No expense has been spared to make a module that looks like Middle-Earth, sounds like Middle-Earth and even reads like Tolkien (more on this later). "Sons of the Steward" makes use of an impressive array of custom content to recreate the world of Middle-Earth in a believable manner. There are custom tile sets (used for instance to create the White Tower in Minas Tirith), rolling hills, NPCs that wear cloaks and carry banners into battle, enemies that ride Wargs and wield quaint pointy shields and swords, and much, much more. Accompanying all this visual splendor is a selection of music tracks, I suspect from the recent movies, which results in a hefty download (around 75 MB). But the music is very beautiful and fits the atmosphere well, so it's definitely worth the download. |
