Thanks to Billy "Wicked" Wilson from gaminggroove for letting us know that he spotted a thread at the official Freedom Force forums that suggests that the game is nearly done. Chey, the project manager and lead designer of this upcoming superhero RPG posted this:
This is the first time I've had a spare minute to look at this board for a month or so. Just thought you would all appreciate a short update. We are *very* close to finishing now. We're all fixing last minute bugs or frantically play-testing the game.

The best thing is that we're having a lot of fun playing the game, which is amazing for this stage of the project. Normally everyone is sick and tired of the game by now but not so on FF. The single player campaign is cool, the custom character building is amazing and the multiplayer is a lot of fun too!

So we've really got something special here. I know you guys are going to dig it when it makes the shelves!

Looks like we've finally beaten that superhero game curse.
