Gamespy has published the seventh installment of thé Etherlords Dev Diary. This time it deals with trhe upcoming worldwide beta for the game:

We have made some important changes in the adventure mode interfaces for the Beta-version. I supervised the process, so I will give you some details on that. First of all, the changes concern spell and rune shops interfaces. Previously the spell shop interface looked as follows: (Figure 1) on the left of the screen you had your hero's stats and spell book; on the right, spells that the shop had to offer. The upper left section showed how much resources you needed to buy the selected spell. It seemed to us pretty simple to understand, but when we showed the game at E3 2000, we found out that users would often feel puzzled. Spells on the left were readily associated with the shop's offer and not with the hero's spell book. It was still harder to guess what you were supposed to do to actually buy a spell.
