Yup, it's another preview of Icewind Dale 2 out there, and this time you can find it at HomeLan. Here's an excerpt:
Perhaps the biggest issue most gamers will have with Icewind Dale II are the graphics. The game uses BioWare's Infinity Engine which has been used for a number of previous Black Isle RPGs, including the original Icewind Dale. The 2D engine simply cannot compete with the look of today's RPG's like Dungeon Siege, Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights. While the 2D artwork is very detailed, some players might be put off by the look of the game as compared with the newest RPGs on the store shelves. Of course, graphics aren't everything and the deep gameplay aspects of Icewind Dale II could be enough for hard-core RPG fans. The game also has the advantage of being able to run well even on relatively low end PC hardware, although the Infinity Engine now supports resolutions up to 1024x768.
