IGN has conducted an interview with Irrational's Ken Levine about his company's recently unveiled (story) "spiritual successor" to 'System Shock II'.Every entertainment medium has its artistic pioneers, and Looking Glass Studios was just such an example. From the beginning of stealth action in Thief: The Dark Project to some highly enjoyable flight sims, LGS brought a high standard of quality and depth to whatever they put their hands to. Many (including us) consider the System Shock series some of the best games they've ever played -- high production values, an intimidating attention to detail, and a moody environment that had you glued to the screen and jumping back at every loud noise amid the spooky silence of a derelict space station. Its sequel carried the torch and added a fantastic soundscape to the mix.
Veterans of Looking Glass, and the cohorts they've met since then, gathered to make Irrational Games, home of Freedom Force, Tribes: Vengeance, SWAT 4…and the newly-announced BioShock, for which Ken Levine, General Manager at Irrational, granted us a quick interview. |
