Fourteen years is a damn long time in this industry, yet the Warlords series has managed to survive the revolving door of publisher and developer usually reserved for bands like King Crimson or Black Sabbath. Although the Battlecry evolution brought it into RTS Land, what remains is the stunning amount of races and units at your disposal, for one thing, leading to replayability value that many other titles couldn't touch. While the visuals haven't stayed current with its competitors, and things like pathfinding could use a little help, Battlecry III offers intriguing story development while balancing it with deep gameplay variety.
