RPGDot Game Rating Machine

wsutton2 has rated the following games:

Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: 3/10 points

My least favorite rpg of the past 5 years. Way too buggy initially. Combat and gameplay balance were also weak points.

Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 9/10 points

Great game, more story driven than IWD. Mage battles were usually fun. Remember using that ruby spell an awful lot.

Bard's Tale 1 - Tales from the Unknown: 9/10 points

A classic. Skara Brae, I spent a lot of time in that city. Obviously, dated graphics now.

Betrayal at Krondor: 7/10 points

Very good storyline. I thought the graphics and gameplay were very good for their time. The bestiary was kind of limited though. Fought way too many humans and giant spiders. Ate too much rotten food, also.

Buck Rogers 2: Matrix Cubed: 7/10 points

Basically another goldbox game, with guns. Buck was a stud, though.

Curse Of The Azure Bonds: 7/10 points

Another classic gold box game. Loved the turned based system. Probably the best one of the group is pool of darkness with that killer add on dungeon at the end.

Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points

Great, classic crpg. Open ended and for the nice price of $10 (I believe), how can you go wrong?

Fallout 2: 9/10 points

Great, like FO1. LOVED the car, especially hanging out in New Reno. I believe the parking space was in front of the casino on Virgin St. How nice is that?

Freedom Force: 9/10 points

I really like this game. I like the ability to pause the game during combat, and move the camera around. It's fun to see an enemy (or hero) hurled against a car/building with the "thwack" sound effect scripted above. It really gives a feeling like a comic book.

Icewind Dale: 8/10 points

Very good 6 man party dungeon crawl. Different game than BG, but still very good. Wish the game included kits.

Might & Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven: 7/10 points

Fun, kind of cheesy rpg. Maps were key, or else you're knocking on all the doors, finding that trainer you saw before (kind of reminds me of concentration). Monsters were fodder by the 2/3 part of the game.

Planescape: Torment: 5/10 points

Couldn't finish the game. Way too talky for me. I liked the way they handled death, though.

Wasteland: 10/10 points

Probably my favorite crpg of all time. Weird, wild stuff. Graphics don't hold up well today, but the turned based gameplay does (if you like turned based). Still want to run that pugilist character.

Wizardry 8: 10/10 points

My favorite rpg in the last few years. Awesome, challenging turned based rpg. Try a 1-3 person party at hard/expert setting. Each characters action becomes critical. Great stuff.
