Phenomic's Spellforce 2 has been reviewed at Jolt. The score is 7/10 and here's an excerpt:
Well here’s a novelty. Company releases game. Reviewers tell of issues that stop the game being great. Company makes sequel. Company actually *listens* to the criticisms of the original. Company fixes faults. Company releases a way better game. Wonder if anyone else sees the connection. If they’re not careful that kind of radical thinking just might catch on. Then where would we be? The original SpellForce, for those who didn’t get to play it, tried to combine RTS and RPG elements in a fantasy world. Tried but didn’t quite succeed. Both elements were there and made valid contributions to the gameplay, but neither were developed well enough to create as real impact. If you’re combining those two elements, you’d better make it Warcraft meets Dungeon Siege or you’re in trouble. That didn’t happen first time round. Second time round, it’s closer.
