OK, it's way too short, the in-game video could be better and you spend a lot of time running around.
But those things aside, this wasn't that bad of a game. The music's fair, the graphics are good and the gameplay's not bad. I got the feeling that they pushed this out with a lot less content than originally intended. Almost like someone told them, "just get this out the door so we can concentrate on more important stuff". |
Dungeon Lords: 6/10 points |
It's not a bad game w/the 1.3 patch, if you can overlook some of it's shortcomings.
However, the unfinished condition of the game is so blatent, with so many advertised features missing that the average gamer who bought the game based on advertisements from the official web-site and the box can't help but feel cheated.
The publisher's attempts to convince the gaming community that this isn't the case, compound rather than help the situation. |
Heretic: 10/10 points |
I must give this a 10 because this is the one that got me into PC Gaming. In the classic tradition of DooM, with a slightly more advanced engine. Many levels, monsters, weapons. Fair story, music. Graphics were good for the time.
Definately more a 1st person shooter than RPG though.
Tells the tale of the "Serpent Riders", continued in Hexen, Hexen 2, plus various expansion packs. Heretic 2 was kind of a follow-up. |
Mistmare: 7/10 points |
Quite enjoyable once you get used to it. |
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: 8/10 points |
Great game! By far the best RPG I've played in some time. My biggest complaint is that there's no expansion (although that's understandable, given the state of Troika).
Ok, there are a few minor bugs and the ending could have been a little better, but there are so many things done so well in this game that you can easily overlook this. |
