A very positive review of Dark Age of Camelot (European version) has been posted at MrFixItOnline. They rate the game with 5/5 stars, and their final thaoughts are full of praise for this MMORPG:
The bottom line is that this game is simply great, and easily one of the best I have played in years. It would have been my Game of the Year for 2001 had I played it when it was released, instead of waiting for the European release. The creators have put a great deal of effort into making this game fun, and it has really paid off. They clearly know what makes a good game, and they have proven with DAoC that they are keen to make a good game and not just make a profit. The variety of options available is overwhelming, but they are not just options for the sake of options, but offer quality and qualititive differences. Wandering around the realms looking at the different characters on offer I feel like a child in a candy store, wanting to try out each one. It is a sign of a classic game when it can eat up your time, and leave you thinking "wow, I have to try that next", almost every time you play. This game has that feeling in abundance, and because of that will keep me playing for some time to come, and probably remain in my list of all-time greats for an even longer time after that. |
