Thanks to Ahnteis Corazon from Packmule.org for sending along word that them donkey riders have conducted an interview with Chris Taylor (Producer) on the packmule that will be included with Dungeon Siege.

Here's a snip from this rather unusual Q&A:

    Q. Can you describe the exact gaming moment/scenario that lead you to create packmule?

    CT - Well, it was the next step from an idea we had to simply add "helpers" to the party. We first thought that this would eliminate much of the need to return to town and sell off all collected loot because the player's inventory was full, and/or because they were out of supplies. We then realized that we didn't want just a little bit more space, we wanted a lot more. We started thinking about expedition teams and how they use pack animals to carry supplies, and presto the Packmule was born.
