Warcry's Vandemar unveils his rather lukewarm review for Obsidian's Xbox version of Star Wars KotOR 2: The Sith Lords, in which Star Wars gets an overall rating of 8.3 out of 10...
There’s still a Dark Side and a Light Side story to play through, never fret, and the story is actually pretty interesting if you’ve always secretly waved around cardboard tubes and made lightsaber noises. Some of us have elevated our game and bought those hundred dollar ones that leave everybody else drooling, because we are true Jedi of Awesome. Both stories are quality and for full enjoyment, KOTOR2 should be played through as both Light Side and Dark Side, though anyone with any knowledge whatsoever of Star Wars probably figured that out already.
If I don’t sound that enthusiastic, that’s because it didn’t quite grab me the way some of my favorite RPGs do. However, while I didn't feel much of a connection to the game, I'm not one of those reviewers that's going to penalize a good game for my personal hangups. I can appreciate and respect a good game when I see it, even if it doesn’t grab me. If you like RPGs or if you liked the first one, you’re going to be quite pleased.
