The massive score of 95% was handed out the GotY Edition of Morrowind for the Xbox in 3d Avenue's review. It seems it's all in the freedom:
Freedom is a wonderful thing, and we all appreciate the fact that we possess it. In the video game world however, there have been many criticisms within games, on the fact that there are too many linear sequences in some parts of them. How many times have you seen a couple of objects, and wish you could set off some chain reaction, but only to be disappointed when you couldn’t do so? And how many times have you wanted to go forward in a game, only to be blocked by a boundary? Forget these things. The amount of freedom you will get in this game will leave you to forget about the reality of the world you are in. Welcome to Morrowind.
Thanks, Nathan.
