The second developer diary for Divine Divinity at Gamespy is written by Douglas Goodall and tells us ... that the beta CD's have been shipped. This means we are much closer to a release now :-). Here's the beginning from the interesting dev diary:

I'm a bag of mixed feelings right now. I just put the beta CD's of Divinity in the mail, and while it did give me a sense of satisfaction, there's something not quite right. The bad part is that I know exactly what it is that doesn't feel right, and what's worse, I know this feeling is going to last for several weeks, if not months. Some part of my brain is refusing to acknowledge this awkward feeling. You see, I'm supposed to be happy.

More than two years have I been labouring to reach this point. When I'm old and wise, ready to face a certain character whom I hope will resemble a Mr. Pratchett's creation, I'll probably say, "Heck, if I wouldn't have gone through those two years -- I'd probably have quite some time left on this planet." Sleepless nights, overdoses of caffeine and nicotine, hair-whitening adrenaline bursts, chronic finger and elbow pains, they all for sure didn't contribute to my red life bar. So, at what's supposed to be almost the conclusion of this hellish ride, finding myself in a state of un-total happiness, well, it's just…not fair.
