Computergames' "Bossman" obviously wasn't as impressed with Freedom Force vs The Third Reich as I was (either that, or they have a completely different rating system than we do:-)...as he has posted up his own review for Irrational's epic game, in which he gives FFvsTTR an overall scoring of 79%...
After you finish the single-player campaign, you can either play the missions in the Rumble Room (aka Skirmish mode) with various heroes, or you can go online for a multiplayer match. There are seven game modes to choose from: arena, team arena, deathmatch, team deathmatch, massacre, team massacre, tag and the "story-based multiplayer mod". The latter gives the players and modders a lot of freedom regarding the heroes allowed on a particular mission, the way the action will develop or the levels used. The modding tools have also been improved, since Irrational Games understood that the ability to modify the game to the finest detail was what kept Freedom Force alive all these years and created an impressive fan base.
Although it doesn't excel in any way and the additions brought by it hardly justify the characterization as a sequel, FFvt3R is a fun game, which manages to bring to the PC the look and feel of comic-book super-heroes, sporting some colorful characters and vivid graphics. And despite its shortcomings, it's a very good game to play between two levels of Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.
