Some modest praise for Interplay's BG: Dark Alliance 2 for the Xbox at VideoGamesLife with their review handing out 75%:
Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2 will never win awards for original narrative; Black Isle has lifted the original story and re-jigged it for this sequel. The three champions who managed to defeat Eldrith the Betrayer escaped from the Onyx Tower at the last second, only to re-appear in the Sword Coast from the only existing Shadow Gate owned by an unknown adversary bedecked in all white. Unfortunately, this is no Gandalf we’re dealing with and his cohorts soon overpower the trio, before dragging them back to this latest enemy’s hideout for a spot of torture, in order to ascertain the whereabouts of the Onyx Tower now that its original tenant is no more.
