The second fan fiction story for Gothic is up now. After A Streak of Bad Luck by Jaz, now also Val has presented us with a real great story. You can check it out at our hosted site GothicDot by going here. To get you into the mood, here's a little something from it:
Rain. It had been raining for a week now. She crouched low in the alley and pulled her tattered cloak closer about her shoulders. She had been soaked through hours ago and she wondered idly if she would ever be warm and dry again as she watched drops of water drip from the edge of her hood. She looked out at the busy street intently, searching for an opportunity. Refugees from Glokar had been streaming into the city for a few days now. The war had not been kind to the citizens of that small city. Apparently the Orcs decided to raze it to the ground and kill everyone they could catch. She had heard rumors about the city being built on the same ground as an ancient sacred Orc pilgrimage site and the Orcs didn't like humans living on their 'holy' land.

Thus she found herself preying on these poor wretches, although not all of them were poor. The nobles and rich merchants, who also had escaped the Orc's wrath, had dragged along many of their possessions. Her last few jobs had not gone well and she knew the city guard was getting close to catching her. She needed to keep a lower profile and stick to pickpocketing instead of burglary. She had foolishly allowed herself to be seen by the owner of the last house she had broken into. Just her luck that the fat pig had decided to get a midnight snack. Now the guards had a description of her. She silently chided herself for not killing the man outright, but then again, murder was not really her style. She would kill if it were necessary, but she didn't relish it like some of the those in the Guild.
