A review of Asheron's Call 2 has been posted at The Wargamer. It is very detailed and well written, and it contains no numerical rating, but the summary at the end ist quite positive:
It is obvious that Turbine took the time to assess every aspect of the game, and to rethink much of it to make the game simpler, more user friendly, and just plain fun. I love Asheron's Call 2: Fallen Kings. I hear from players of the first Asheron's Call that gamers who liked the original find Asheron's Call 2 very different, so that might be something to consider before abandoning the first game. I never played the original much, though, so Asheron's Call 2 has been something new and enjoyable for me. As it is, Asheron's Call 2 is a highly polished work of art that offers a massive world in which to explore, fight, craft, and discover the mystery of Dereth's Devastation. I wholeheartedly recommend it to the veteran or the player just entering the MMORPG genre, if he or she has the time to give to Asheron's Call 2. Like any MMORPG, Asheron's Call 2 certainly requires a healthy time commitment, but it does seem to be more kind to the casual player than any other MMORPG I've played. As it is, this game is likely to bestow gaming goodness to players around the world for years to come. |
