A new interview with Project Lead Vilur Shakirov and Game Designer Sergey Videneev from Jonquil Software about their upcoming RPG Spells of Gold has been published at RPGVault. Here's how it starts:
Jonric: To start by introducing Spells of Gold, what kind of game is it, what do you see as its key features, and what types of gameplay will it offer?

Vilur Shakirov: Spells of Gold is a role-playing game with a strong trade influence. Unlike other RPGs where heroes can benefit only by performing quests and selling things they have found, taken or stolen while travelling, Spells of Gold offers one more way of profiting, which is to trade in various goods between the towns. If I may put it like this, it will be a kind of mix between Space Bucks, Beyond the Frontier and, maybe, Diablo. So this is the distinguishing feature of Spells of Gold's gameplay. Besides the features typical of role-playing games, our game presents a trade simulator with all the things that no trade can exist without - variations in prices, seasonal stock, patents, tolls and trade guilds, of course.
