RPG Vault takes a look at Aventurine's forthcoming Darkfall.Darkfall is an interesting endeavor from Greek-based Aventurine, which brought aboard the original Norwegian developers, Razorwax. Currently approaching beta, it takes place in a world called Agon that will offer six diverse playable races aligned in three groups. Humans, Dwarves and the elven Mirdain make up one. Orks and the Mahirim wolf-men comprise another, while the Alfar are friendless pariahs.
Commendations
Players who favor open-ended character systems are likely to be interested in this title, which will reportedly allow the ability to follow myriad career paths by selecting and using appropriate combinations of skills. Some optional classes will also be available, like Paladin, Assassin, Gladiator and Enchanter. From the first time we spotted the title, the team has been consistently clear in stating that the play will have a sizeable player versus player component even though this will lead some gamers to shy away. As such, it may have significant appeal for a particular core audience.
