Just got a mail from Andy from PlayXcess who let us know that they have a review of 'Sacred'. Rating: 8/10.
Beard, beard, beard, beard, beard. Good…now that we have the token RPG review pleasantries out of the way, we can progress. RPGs. I abhor RPGs for the juxtaposed and very sincere reason that I adore them with a fevered intensity that only just stops short of incriminating stains. Reality is utterly superseded for an alternate world both arcane and fantastic; a world inhabited by wandering troubadours with asinine names such as Dangyl d’Fegnrshh-Thispwindle. Who often has a quest for you to find his missing spoon. Sacred is an RPG leaning towards the Diablo style of explosive combat, but with few of the weaknesses of the frankly dubious Lionheart. Sacred is a game that, like a cunning ninja +2, has suddenly emerged from the undergrowth, without much of the expected pomp and circumstance. I have cancelled my plans for the next month and invested in a colossal box of Kleenex. Just in case.
