Sigil's Brad McQuaid has been interviewed at HomeLAN Fed about 'Vanguard: Saga of Heroes'. Here's one of the questions:
HomeLAN - Why did you want to make a fantasy based MMORPG as Sigil Game’s first product?

Brad McQuaid - Several reasons I think... First, as proud as we are of EQ, there is so much more we can do now because of technology as well as lessoned learned. We want to take the genre farther and we are not ready to move onto a different theme or game style. Secondly, it’s where our experience mostly lies, and in terms of mitigating risk and doing a first game as a new company and with a new publisher, I think it made a lot of sense. Thirdly, we all love fantasy… fantasy books, movies, games, etc. So the passion is still there and will be for some time. Lastly, we have Keith Parkinson as our Art Director and while it’s not like he can’t paint other themes (he’s done some wicked Sci Fi, for example) I think it made a lot of sense to bring him to bear on what he’s best known for as well.
