Fun adaptation of the PnP game 'Car Wars'. Build your own car, tool around to different towns, fight in arenas or on the road. Found a cheat to the blackjack tables in Atlantic City, so I was always rolling in dough =)

Not really an RPG but Drive Offensively! The Life You Save may be Your Own. C'mon - when are we going to see Auto: Fallout Edition?

HotPants has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from HotPants)

Probably one of the first "action RPGs". Deserves praise simply for the innoation, and the fact that it was also great fun for its day makes it a classic.

I never really pictured this game as an RPG, it was however a solid game for its time and deserves props, altough probibly notplayable now.

Crummy treatment of a great game. Horrible graphics, stupid game play.

I learned the geography of Upstate New York from this game. They should make a Fallout with this type of gameplay.

Had this for the Mac way back when. It was very unique at the time. Graphics were lackluster, but the ability to create your own cars, trucks, and vans and have variety of them was great. The arenas were a lot of fun, as was the toodling around from city to city, though that got monotonous after awhile. In its day, it was refreshingly original.

ALL TIME FAVORITE. I can't express enough how much I loved and still love this game. I even used to bring the little tools, that came with the game, to school everyday and I actualy used them. My only fault with this game was the driving distance from one city to another, but other than that I love this game.

I just want lionheart to boost it's rank here.

Who said this is an rpg?

Old school RPG that was among the finest at the time. Graphics were good for the era, the level of customization amazing, and the freeform play was revolutionary.

What, no turrets? I enjoyed this game, but it doesn't have strong RPG elements to it.

gonzosports has rated 10/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from gonzosports)

A classic -- made by Lord British (Richard Garriott of Ultima fame) and Chuckles. It seamlessly blended RPG and action elements with an uncanny car customization ability. You could oufit that rig with oil/spike droppers, paint sprayers, flamethrowers, recoilless rifles, machine guns, and the laser gun...from vans to subcompacts it was a faithful PC adaptation of the great CAR WARS board game. One of a handful of games that should be viewed as perfect games -- despite the non-linear nature of the game, it still had a main story capable of being completed. AWESOME!

Great game when it came out. I've hoped for a sequel or a remake ever since, based on the Car Wars universe.
