Gamespy published their third UXO Developer Diary. This one concerns character advancement systems:

One of the rewards for fighting monsters and completing quests is your character's growth. When creating UXO's character advancement system, we set out to take the best aspects of a class-based system and combine those with the best parts of a skill-based system.
