GameMethod has an editorial titled 'Rethinking Massively Multiplayer Worlds'. Here's a snip:
Content development is a serious concern for most massively multiplayer games, because they all approach the world as a game. This “game” pits the players vs. the world (PvE), with AI monsters and static dungeons that constantly respawn the same monsters with the same treasure. That’s the current take on content. Personally, I think it’s a load of rubbish.
