The staff over at Just RPG have this report on the latest news regarding "Indie RolePlaying"...i.e. RPG's developed by non-commercial, independent developers...
For an indie developer, who works enormously hard for little or no reward other than his own personal satisfaction, positive feedback is incredibly important. Imagine what you would feel like if you'd spent a year or more working on a game, writing code, doing graphics, etc etc, and then, when you released it to the public, nobody even thanked you. And imagine how discouraging this is for developers who want to start working on a new RPG. If RPG players don't support good indie RPGs, indie RPGs will die, and that will be a great loss. But the more successful the good indie RPGs become, the more new games there will be. And don't tell me that you don't want to play more good free RPGs. So, I hereby wish to express my thanks to all those who support independent developers.
