A new Iritor Online Dev Diary has been posted at RPGVault today. Wootsoft's upcoming futuristic MMORPG looks pretty interesting, although one can assume that it will have a hard time on a more or less staurated market. This time, President markus Fuhrmann talks about amination and collision:
The collision system is capable of calculating axis-aligned bounding box collision for the whole cluster with only linear computing power expenditure. This allows for complex environments with many different height levels and various static objects filled with loads of enemies and players. On the client side, we have a multi-staged collision system starting with bounding boxes eventually colliding with boxes for each bone, and it finally allows us to even go down to the polygonal level. This precision allows us to simulate knock back effects in combat, where a hit from a strong monster can send you flying through the room. We also support very large monsters with players running around their legs. You will appreciate our world more than anything you have seen so far because you will have the choice of which monster to attack, the option to switch instantly from target to target, and to use attack combos to neutralize your foes.
