RPGVault has posted the 14th installment of their Black Moon Chronicles Dev Diaries. This time, Humberto Valencia discusses how the spell and skill system evolved:
In the beginning, skills and spells were two different entities. As a matter of fact, characters had to visit specific NPCs in different locations to learn spells and skills. Basic trainers could be found in the cities, but as characters evolved, they would have to travel to other cities and villages to meet with higher-level trainers. Believe me when I say that it was no easy task to get to certain cities just to meet with your trainer... but it was well worth it. When the closed beta started and we started receiving feedback from the testers, we noticed that the system wasn't as simple or as efficient as we wanted it to be. The whole system was then re-evaluated. |
