Warcry's Majdi Razick bring us this remarkable review for the second of the Xenosaga RPG series from Namco - Xenosaga II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (PS2) - in which an overall grade of 8.0 is awarded...
Entertainment: 8.0
Xenosaga: Episode 2 is a marvelous game. However, you may want to have some popcorn with you while you play. Xenosaga: Episode 2’s cut-scenes are long and plentiful, about four and a half hours in total. Some people don’t like to sit around and watch cinematics all day. However, I believe it’s something that all current RPGs need: a compelling story, and well-done cut-scenes to go along with it. RPGs are supposed to be epic, let’s make them feel like that.
In addition to an expansive story and jaw-dropping gameplay there are a bunch of sidequest/mini-games to be played. I suggest you go through each “G.S. Mission” as they are called; the rewards are well worth it. Some of the rewards are Double Attack skills that can be taught to two of your characters; it just cries out, “I’m a badass.”
Overall: 8.0
I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have. |
