Gamesplanet.be grabbed Ivan-Assen Ivanov from Haemimont games and set him to work answering some questions about Celtic Kings: The Punic Wars :2: Could you give our readers, who haven't heard of Celtic Kings yet, a short introduction?
Celtic Kings: Rage of War is an unorthodox RTS with some RPG elements. The player controls hundreds of units via heroes; each hero can lead an army of up to 50 units. Not only the heroes, but all units gather experience and increase their stats through battles. In strategic mode (multiplayer or against computer opponents) you develop and lead your armies into military campaigns, with an emphasis on unit vs. unit matching and choosing your battles wisely, rather than micromanagement or overpowering the enemy through economic development. In adventure mode - the single player campaigns - you lead a small group of heroes through the land of Gaul on a series of missions of revenge, diplomacy and conquest. Several gameplay features make the game quite different from the other military RTSes on the market - the need to feed your armies, the local resources (if you have two strongholds, you can't build units in one of them with the gold you have in the other one), the huge detailed minimap etc.
The Punic Wars is a new title in the line bringing two completely new races, several gameplay enhancements, two new campaigns, many multiplayer maps and engine improvements to Celtic Kings. It's a separate game; you don't need Celtic Kings: Rage of War to play The Punic Wars. Here's the link. | Source: eToychest |
