1) There's a new 360° animated screenshot of a male Twi'lek online at the official SWG site. Make sure you got Apple's Quicktime installed to view this one.
2) On to noteworthy posts from the dev forums. First one today from Haden "Shug_Ninx" Blackman (Lucas Arts Producer) on creatures, wildlife and pets:
This doesn't necessarily reveal Corellia as an explorable world.
We need to populate a number of planets with different wildlife, so we're drawing on what we know exists and making logical "transplants" when necessary. We know that a number of creatures (most notably the bantha and the rancor) have been taken from their original homeworlds and introduced into new ecosystems; it seems logical that this would happen occasionally with other animals as well.
Animals are also sold as pets (which we'll have in the game) and beasts of burden (ditto).
3) Raph "Holocron" Koster (Creative Director) on land ownership, world buliding and "lockdowns":
UO eventually added "lockdowns" which were a way to nail things down so that only the owner or friends could move them. We will have something similar.
One of the types of building you can build in SWG is the "empty lot." In other words, you can reserve a lot for lockdowns and the like, but not actually have a building there. So you could essentially reserve your entire little peninsula and nobody could build there. It will cost you against your lots though.
We intend to use the "empty lot" concept for picnics, wedding setups, etc etc. But its main use is, of course, as a yard.
4) Last one for today comes from Kevin "Q-3PO" O'Hara (Community Relations Manager) and he asks for your opinion on what the options menu should contain:
One of the things that Nick Newhard (SWG game designer) is working on now is designs for our Options Menu. Most of this is the boring basics (in my opinion), such as selecting video cards and setting the music volume. However, I thought I would throw the topic to the boards to hear what you have to say about Game Options. What has your experience been with game option menus? What critical settings have been left out of your favorite games? What options are extraneous? What games did a good job with their options menu and why do you think that?
Obviously I can't go into detail about what all the options will be in Star Wars Galaxies so far. To give you an idea of just a few of them, we will have chat filters, names over heads on/off, and ignore lists.
