The last pieces of E3 previews will bve coming in this week, and one of them is the Call of Cthulhu preview at Gamespy. Here's something about this game recently aquired for publishing by Bethesda:
In the early stages of the demonstration, it was clear this game was different. Not just in a warped sense, but in presentation. There was no heads up display showing health or any indicators whatsoever. Inventory was on a hot key for a separate screen, keeping the main screen free of anything but what the player character was seeing. Clarke said that health and insanity levels are tracked in the background and the key in the game is to gain the information you need to figure out what is happening without dying or going insane. Action gamers may play and ask how you know what your health is or how close to death or insanity you are. Clarke said that not knowing is part of the mystery. When you are injured, you may notice you don't run as fast or aiming your weapon takes a bit longer.
