Every once in a while, a developer will happen upon a mega-hit franchise and then use the franchise to promote other games from a completely different genre. Capcom used this to some effect with Megaman and the .EXE and Power Battle series’. Squaresoft leveraged the Final Fantasy name in Tactics and Crystal Chronicles. Nintendo rode the power of Mario for some time with Mario Golf, Tennis, Dr. Mario and a list of other titles. However, sometimes a franchise name is abused, like with Capcom's Onimusha. Lords of Everquest is an prime example of abusing a series by handing it a sub-par title. Actually, if it weren't for a little company called Blizzard, Lords of Everquest may have actually have been a half decent game...
