ToTheGame has posted up its own preview of Celtic Kings. Here's a snippet:
The three resources you have to manage are food, people and gold. Celtic Kings has opted for being closer to reality than most RTS games, your troops must be drafted from your population, depleting the towns and villages of theirs. Next to have large armies in the field they’ll need food support from nearby villages. Another feature that makes the game feel closer to reality, the strategically unimportant little village is suddenly important after all as a food source for your army. The interesting part is that it is the population of your towns and villages that produce your resources, so building a very large army without the proper support might not be a very good idea. To keep the villages under your control you need to keep the villagers happy, a loyalty stat is provided for you to keep an eye on how well your leadership is appreciated in a town or village. |
