More Details For The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Nintendo released more information about their upcoming continuation of the Zelda series at a recent teleconference in Seattle. They shared many interesting details about the highly talked about game - which has been in the making since before Majora's Mask was released.

The Wind Waker will take place a 100 years after the events of The Ocarina of Time. Link and Ganon will once again represent the fight between good and evil. The "new" Link received a pair of clothes similar to those of a "hero of Legend" (obviously representing the Link known in The Ocarina of Time (this means that every game could be considered to have a different Link.))

The creator expressed the fact that the game was not geared towards children just because of the cel-shaded look of the game. He claims it was anime-inspired and has been shocked by some of the negative response towards the look.

Different things are being done with the music, including remixing old tunes as well as a change in the tempo of the music depending on the situation.

They also commented on Ura Zelda or "Master Quest" as it is being titled here in America. It was said that Master Quest would not be much different then the original game, only including more humorous scenes and added difficulty.

The Wind Waker is still scheduled to be released on March 24th, 2003 here, while the Japanese will be able to purchase the game at the end of the week.
