I read the excellent reviews, heard my friends drooling over this game, but nothing prepared me for the RPG I experienced. It was as close to perfect as I have seen in ANY game. I'm not even a fan of Star Wars in particular. I mainly enjoy fantasy RPGs. But Knights of the Old Republic is a great game.
Good graphics. Good sound. Enjoyable combat. Believable NPCs. Great story. Every part of this game is well polished and works well. This game made me feel like I'd acted out my own movie or my own book set in the Star Wars universe.
My only problem with this game is that it didn't last forever. A brilliant CRPG, I encourage everyone to play through this game. |

Fantastic graphics, freedom to explore planets in any order, customizable force abilities, and a Wookie with a life debt. What more could you want in a SW game? I took off 1 point for stability on some PCs, but version 1.01 has improved technical problems. 9/10 rating from me! |

This is by far the best RPG I have played in years. Reminds me of the old dungeon master. Just like a good book, I just had to keep playing it until I solved it.....and the played it to be a dark jedi. Where is the expansion! LOL. |

Good game, but simply far to linear. And they try do hide it behind some crapy good/evil stsyem that don't work. Bioware, I know you can make better rolesplaying games than this. |

I just don't get it.
I've played nearly every RPG imaginable all the way back to Ultima I, and KOTOR doesn't stand up to half of them.
Nice graphics, yes. Great voice acting, definitely. Some fun dialog, ok. But this game was so limited it's rediculous to call it an RPG...it plays much more like an action game (see Tomb Raider).
It's completely linear...hell, if there is a bump in the ground on either side of the path you're walking on, don't even think you can venture over it. I often felt like I was driving one of those cars at Disneyland that lets you stear a little to the left and right, but alway keeps you going exactly where they want you to.
And what about map sizes? Not one city in KOTOR made me feel like I was in a city...hell my back yard feels bigger and more involved.
Ever try to do anything more to an NPC in KOTOR than just talk to them? Sorry, you can't.
Oh yeah, and if there's anything that really bugs the hell out of me in a game, it's when there's 5 million doors that are just painted on buildings...that's just stupid.
Anyways, this game was a decent action game, but a mediocre RPG at best.... |

Baldur's Gate 2 was the last game I played where I stayed up way too late playing it, and just couldn't put down until I finished it. I was also actually suprised by the plot twist near the end, a first in my gaming experience (and I play a LOT of games). Part of the fun may have been that this was the first RPG since Betrayal at Krondor for which I didn't even peek at hints/walkthroughs. I've only played through it once, but I know I will play through it again. |

This is the best Star Wars game ever George Lucas is a genius if you ask me to make so many movies and games of Star Wars you certanly need a lot of imagination.I finished the first kotor and the second one.I can say that the graphic is great,the sound is good expecialy the characters but it has a few bugs or a lot depends of how good your computer is expecialy the graphic card that has to bee one of the latest but still it has bugs.The combat is good and verry real you can feel the fights the story it's like you area part of it and that you have so many choices and paths to chose from is incredible it's like every time I play the game something changes every time.RPGs' are my favourite tipes of games and this one realy impresed me.My only problem are the bugs and some graphic essues but if try this game give it a chance you won't regret it this is the best RPG to come from Baldurs Gates and Dungen & Dragons and the most real I've seen.May the force bee with all who play this game. |

The BEST RPG I have ever played. It doesn't have all of the teeny-bopper elements of Final Fantasy, but for not being an online game, it is awesome and almost feels like you are playing the part in one of the movies. |
