1Up.com has interviewed just about everyone who's involved with Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna with Chris Taylor from Gas Powered Games as well as representatives from Mad Doc and Microsoft participating. Here's a snip:
1UP-Ivan: If I didn't like Dungeon Siege, would I buy this? Why?

Steve Wartofsky: Dungeon Siege is an extremely successful title, which has in fact captured a wide swathe of the RPG/Action RPG market; however, there is a hard-core part of that market that is looking for more depth in the relationship between story and game; more granularity in the details of character development, item and artifact collection; and less linearity in the high-level movement through the gameworld. DS:LoA takes a number of great steps in that direction, and Mad Doc has done a spectacular job of Doing the Right Thing in all these areas, within the constraints of Dungeon Siege I technology.
