Great Game! A few problems but well worth it. Lots of fun! Must play, you'll like it the more you play it!

It's indeed a great game well worth it's money and more. Like I already said, it's like one of those games of the past when developers actually cared for gameplay, not just posh graphics - yet the graphics are pretty good too. A must have.

I am retro and modern game player. (I still play on my Commodore 64 and I have a 64 bit PC ok?) And this game would rock in any year of the last 20 (including 2006!) It has all the gameplay of those great old games like Star Control, Nova, Mars Saga, Pirates, Colonization, Alpha Centauri and on and on. It stands up to any of the above classics. In fact I can see this game making people look for Star Control 2, investigating games like Mechwarrior and even checking out what those text adventures are all about! This is to free-form RPG'ing that The Longest Journey was to Adventuring. A sign that there are still sensible developers, publishers and gamers out there and that maybe, just maybe we are growning up! :)

A web magazine gave this as a final paragraph and gave the game 71%. Other than the bit about it won't sell well (presumably because it is from a small publisher so won't get good scores) I think this paragraph says at least 81%. It's the sort of thing that is said when a game is considered a hit. This game seems to have been marked down solely because the reviewer had an expectation the game would not sell huge numbers. Is that a reviewers job now? To decide a score based on how well a game will sell? Based on the scores given to bland so called AAA titles, maybe it is now! Another nail in the coffin for PC gaming thanks to reviewers. Quote:"Something just grabs you and keeps you there. Maybe it's the sense of humour (a paragraph in the manual cheekily explains away any translation errors by basically saying, "It's the future, that's how they talk now"). Maybe it's the hidden layers of depth. Maybe it's the amount of freedom you have to play any way you want. Maybe it's just very, very good game design. Whatever it is, Space Rangers isn't going to break any sales records and may not even stay on the shelves very long. But if you play it you will enjoy it, and you can't really ask for more than that" This is a fantastic game! Don't worry about Starforce, this is a new version and no reported problems have been posted anywhere that I can see. If it was causing problems it would be all over the web as normal. Do yourself a favour and take a chance. You'll be well rewarded. Over and over!

It is not to different from SR1, but still very, very, very good. I do hope they find out something to retrieve micromodules from your weapons. I would have liked to use some of them again. Oh well, just hope for SR3 to come soon!
