Lionheart Item Feature 2

2003-03-03

Lionheart is a computer role playing game that is being developed by Reflexive Entertainment in conjunction with Black Isle Studios. The game is an original title which uses an updated version of the SPECIAL character development system (from Fallouts 1 and 2) in a quasi-historical medieval Europe. Lionheart diverges from traditional high fantasy by placing the player on Earth in the 16th century in which history has taken a different path and magic has been released upon the world. Using a mix of historical and fictional locations and characters, the player progresses through a deep story while advancing through the classless character system.

In this new series of articles, designers of the game will introduce several items from the game

Sword of Rigor Mortis Frost

Slippery to the touch, the blade of this sword seems almost translucent in bright light. Wielding the sword makes your hand go numb, but increases your Cold Resistance by 50%. Enemies struck by the blade suffer an additional 2-10 points of cold damage and any undead struck by the blade have a 15% chance of being frozen in place for 4 seconds.

Gauntlets of Hellfire

Reeking of sulfur and unpleasantly warm to the touch, these gauntlets possess an unearthly spirit that makes your whole body quiver with an unseen power. Although uncomfortable, they provide a +35% fire damage modifier and a +5 fire damage threshold.

Lamp of Jah'roosh

This is an ancient lamp of gold that houses the Efreet Jah'roosh. While similar to the mythical Genie, an Efreet has a different definition of subservience to whoever holds his lamp. Efreet are to be respected and feared and, unless the player has a high speech skill, should be left alone entirely.
