Fame. From the very beginning, Fame was destined to play a role in City of Heroes. That's one of the many things that makes superheroes in comics so interesting; they live in a world that recognizes them and lauds or declaims their accomplishments. Everyone in the DC Universe loves Superman and knows who he is. Every criminal in Gotham City knows Batman and fears him. Every reader of the Daily Bugle in Spider-Man knows the famed web-slinger and either loves him or hates him. The Fantastic Four used to live in a building with a giant "4" on the top and everyone in Marvel's America knows who they are.
