Good morning and welcome to the news. IGN.PC has written a preview of Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. Here's a bit about the new sound system, which sounds pretty promising:
First and foremost on their list of exciting new improvements to the engine is the new sound system that they've developed and added onto the Havok physics technology. The gist of this system is that every time an object is thrown or knocked over, it will make the correct sound, based on the type of motion, type of material, and force the object was moved. "A Deus Ex game is all about immersion," says Bill Money, "So when I bump into something, I expect it to fall down and to make the correct sound."
"In a game, when you throw a box against a wall or a bottle against a carpet, you don't expect it to make the right sound, because it never has," adds Spector, "But in Invisible War, it is going to make the right sound, and though it's a very subtle effect, I think it's going to be stupidly powerful for players who probably won't even notice it." |
